Account Executive/Senior Account Executive
The opportunity:
We’re now gearing up to grow aggressively on the back of our content marketing proposition and so rapidly hiring talented people across all marketing disciplines. We are looking for an experienced Account Executive from an agency background that is passionate about technology and wants to make a make in their next agency!
This AE will have the opportunity to devise creative strategies that combine traditional and digital/social media, help develop creative content including media materials, online content, blog outreach, media pitches and participate in media and influencer outreach. The role:
- Work directly with the account teams and clients to manage and drive PR and marketing programs, attend industry events and secure press coverage for consumer technology products
- Manage multiple projects with the account leads from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
- Proactively develop and manage client correspondence (i.e. daily pitch updates, activity reports, etc.); communicate status of program to internal client leads
- Build level-appropriate understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape and how they impact clients
- Oversee research, preparation and maintenance of accurate media/analyst lists; manage comprehensive coverage monitoring; prepare accurate and timely client reports and provide thoughtful analysis and feedback on results
- Develop and build national and local media/analyst contacts and keep abreast of developments in enterprise, enthusiast, and consumer tech, including reporter moves, outlet changes, etc.
- Consistently produce high quality communications content, and contribute to creation of communications plans that meet client objectives
- Maintain clear and consistent communications between clients and account team
- Help plan and coordinate traditional and social media outreach programs
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Educated to degree level in public relations, marketing, communications, media or related field
- A minimum of 6 months PR or marketing experience with at least 6 months experience working on technology products
- Previous experience gained in either a professional services organisation or agency environment
- Integrated marketing experience would be ideal
- Strong writing capabilities with excellent attention to detail including experience writing blogs
- Experience managing a busy press office, developing press campaigns and liaising with the relevant media
- Previous social media creation experience, ideally supporting campaigns for consumer technology clients
- A self-motivated individual with a passion and understanding of PR or marketing and social media
- A proven ability to handle and manage deadlines in a fast-paced, results orientated environment
- Passion for keeping a pulse on the news cycle
- Great at building relationships with clients and internal colleagues at all levels
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Organised with excellent time management skills
- Supportive, inspiring and motivational team player
- Self-aware and able to adapt personal style and approach to clients and team
- An ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
Reporting:
You will report to an Account Director and work alongside Octopus Group Account Managers and Client Directors.
